To ensure the highest quality products, we’re proud to say that every one of our plants maintains certification from PCI and our SC plant also maintains NPCA certification and is NQA-1 compliant. We then augment these criteria with company-wide quality standards that exceed industry norms. Certification programs sponsored by the NPCA (National Precast Concrete Association) and PCI ( Precast Concrete Institute) are dedicated to setting the highest standards for plant facilities, production operations and quality control procedures.
Certification focuses on factors such as:
- Quality control procedures
- Raw materials
- Concrete mixes
- Production practices
- Reinforcement fabrication and placement
- Pre-pour and post-pour operations
- Casting, curing and stripping operations
- Storage and handling
- Management policies
Precast concrete plants that achieve certification must pass rigorous examinations of their entire manufacturing process, ensuring that they are equipped to meet exacting requirements demanded by the construction industry. And certified plants must maintain their credentials by passing periodic on-site, unannounced certification inspections.
Precast manufacturers should have at least one registered engineer on staff. An engineer with the professional engineer (P.E.) designation has met mandated standards of experience, education, and engineering knowledge. Using a P.E. provides the best assurance that your precast structures will perform as specified. You can also rely on them to be on top of changes in technology, codes, and requirements, minimizing costly and time-consuming problems that can arise.
