When Tindall delivered three months ahead of the competition, Dollar General came back for more.

The colossal Dollar General Distribution Center in Jackson, Georgia, covers approximately one million square feet. Typically, projects of this scale rely on cast-in-place tilt walls for the construction of exterior wall panels. That option meant a March or April delivery for the 466,026 square feet of insulated panels. However, Tindall stepped in to save the client at least three month’s time by ensuring a January delivery through the use of both the GA and SC manufacturing facilities.

By accelerating the original schedule, Tindall was also able to reduce site impact and erect the majority of the interior steel framing prior to precast erection. When it came time to install the precast pieces, Tindall used 560 10-inch-thick insulated wall panels. For aesthetics, a painted, smooth form finish was chosen for the exterior of the structure.

Dollar General was so impressed with Tindall service and products, we have been assigned a new project for our MS plant. When it comes to behemoth projects with aggressive schedules, no one can deliver with the speed and precision of Tindall.

Tindall Corporation’s ability to execute stunning architectural designs with structural integrity is showcased again with the completion of the visually-striking Asheville Airport Parking Structure.

Beginning in February 2017, Tindall had just nine short months to have this parking structure fully operational for holiday travel season. The Asheville Airport recognized a growing demand with Western North Carolina travelers. This parking structure was part of their master plan to serve the needs of the surrounding areas. Partnering with American South General Contractors of Asheville, NC, Tindall was able to turn 400 parking spaces into 1,300 with this 343,884-square-foot structure.

“Like the Blue Ridge Mountains, precast is resilient and can withstand the test of time,” said Greg Force, President and CEO of Tindall Corporation. “This parking structure showcases our team’s ability to execute intricate, yet durable precast flawlessly.”

Located just outside the terminal entrance, the Asheville Airport Parking Structure features an elaborate design of mountain ridges on the spandrels. Tindall’s precast reveals were achieved through form-lined patterns and a sandblast finish. A significant amount of the airport’s parking was displaced during construction. Tindall was able to successfully deliver this expeditious project completion with limited site disruption.

The structure not only increases convenience for travelers, but it creates efficient traffic flow to and from the airport under a covered walkway. The stunning architectural elements provide a beautiful first impression of Asheville while blending seamlessly with the area’s iconic natural surroundings.

On June 28, 2017, Tindall Corporation joined German-based company, ERA Contact, to celebrate its newly-constructed North American headquarters in Liberty, SC. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place with owners and new hires of the facility followed by a luncheon.

Tindall erected an insulated wall panel system for this structure consisting of 144 precast pieces and 30,978 square feet of 8-inch-thick concrete panels. Tindall’s precast provides excellent durability for both exterior and interior conditions by providing insulation sandwiched between layers of concrete that exceeds thermal requirements specified by the International Energy Conservation Code. The exterior wall area was installed in less than three weeks reaching heights of 37 feet.

Tindall Corporation is honored to have taken part in the completion of this project that contributed to 45 new jobs in Pickens County.

Tindall Corporation continues to reveal its diverse capabilities for architectural finishes to create an appealing aesthetic with the completion of the Shem Creek Mixed-Use Structure.

In 2015, Tindall Corporation partnered with the AVETEX Commercial Properties team to create an innovative, aesthetically flexible facility with the durability to tolerate the coastal climate of South Carolina’s low country.

“Here at Tindall Corporation, we create structures that withstand the test of time,” said Greg Force, President and COO of Tindall Corporation. “The Shem Creek structure is a testament to our precast technology and its adaptability in all locations.”

Located on the corner of Coleman Boulevard and Mill Street in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, the Shem Creek facility is a 105,000 square foot elevated precast structure with a textural diversity not seen in a typical office building. Wood grain, brick inlay and various architectural concrete finishes blend aesthetically with the surroundings. The variety of materials and overall design allowed for a stream-lined approach that saved time, as well as money. With Tindall Corporation’s advanced precast technology, this facility blends in with modern coastal structures while reaping the benefits of precast.

Creating an environmentally appropriate and visually attractive structure was just another day at the beach for Tindall. Their completion of this structure exemplifies Tindall’s ability to meet unique project needs for any locale.

Tindall Corporation continues to innovate in precast concrete application with its recent project, Stone Brewery Tasting Room and Retail Store in Richmond, Virginia. In 2016, The Stone Brewery won best project in the category of Manufacturing in ENR Mid-Atlantic’s Best Projects awards. Projects were selected by industry judges based on innovation, quality, and teamwork.

Located in the heart of Richmond, VA, Stone Brewery is a 220,000-square-foot-facility that produces 600,000 barrels of beer per year. The project had a fast-tracked, 14-month schedule that required considerable planning to achieve, and project leaders tapped Tindall to get the job done quickly.

Our team puts in the extra effort to develop inventive solutions for every project we take on,” said Greg Force, President and COO of Tindall Corporation. “Stone Brewery is yet another example of our capability to innovate within the industry, and get creative with high-quality precast.”

To meet the project’s ambitious timeline, Tindall worked with project leaders to evaluate challenges and develop customized engineered solutions. For this project, Tindall manufactured 79,000 square feet of insulated precast cladding panels that took only three weeks to erect. The sustainable panels contributed to the project’s goal of achieving LEED Silver certification while also creating architectural appeal. The raw steel and concrete finish blend with the natural surroundings to create a warm and inviting setting. Large windows allow natural lighting to flow in, creating a fresh, open space that appeals to visitors and employees alike.

The Stone Brewery Tasting Room and Retail Store is the newest distribution center and brewery of Stone Brewing Company, based in California. Stone Brewing Company announced Richmond as its East Coast location in late 2014.

SPARTANBURG, SC – Tindall Corporation, a national leader in precast concrete, recently completed the precast concrete structures for Sanderson Farms, Inc.’s new poultry processing plant in Palestine, TX and has been selected to deliver precast for Sanderson’s new facility in St. Pauls, NC. Sanderson’s processing operations include feed mills, hatcheries, administrative offices and waste water treatment facilities.

Tindall’s single-source precast concrete project approach includes complete engineering and design coordination with other critical building systems, fabrication of all precast components at one of Tindall’s fully enclosed fabrication facilities and just-in-time delivery and installation of the precast building components on-site.

Complex food processing facilities, such as Sanderson Farms, benefit from the high-quality and multi-purpose factory-fabricated components and accelerated construction completion that precast concrete is able to provide. High-performance, insulated architectural wall panels provide the exterior visual features of the facility and the insulated and energy-efficient thermal building envelope for the varied interior room environments, ranging from refrigerated to ambient. The interior smooth surfaces are necessary in certain processing areas where clean design features support food safety and hygiene that are critical to the overall facility operations and good manufacturing practices.

Sanderson’s Palestine, TX facility includes over 170,000 square feet of space constructed with precast concrete column, beam and roof members that include sanitary design features and support process equipment, roof-mounted mechanical equipment and piping systems. Rapid delivery and installation of the precast concrete structure provided other construction trades earlier access and installation schedules and provided Sanderson earlier beneficial occupancy of the facility. Tindall’s San Antonio, TX facility delivered the Palestine, TX project in 2015, while construction of the St. Pauls, NC facility will be supported by Tindall’s Petersburg, VA plant in 2016.

Founded in 1947, Sanderson Farms, Inc. is engaged in the production, processing, marketing and distribution of fresh and frozen poultry and other prepared food items. Employing more than 11,000 employees in operations spanning five states and 13 different cities, Sanderson Farms is the third-largest poultry producer in the United States.

SPARTANBURG, SC – Tindall Corporation, a national leader in precast concrete, worked with the Isle of Wight County Schools in Windsor, VA to help build Georgie D. Tyler Middle School, the state’s first public middle school to use high performance structural and architectural precast concrete wall panels.

“With this project being the first precast middle school in Virginia, there was a lot of importance placed on aesthetics, schedule and safety,” noted a representative from Ritchie-Curbow Construction, Co., the project’s general contractor. “Tindall not only excelled at these requirements, but it was done with the utmost professionalism.”

Tindall used 198 precast concrete wall panels to fully clad the school. Installation of the wall panels required only one month of the project’s 14-month duration which accelerated the building’s dry-in and helped save the school district time and money. The aesthetic requirements and unique exterior design concept were new to the school community and ultimately led to the selection of an architectural precast approach.

The school’s precast wall panels include a buff-colored concrete mix with varying sandblast depths to provide a contrasting surface appearance in line with the project’s overall architectural concept. The exterior design incorporates cast-in, thin-set brick to provide a background for the accent features created by the buff concrete surface.

The school’s pleasing appearance did not go unnoticed. The Tidewater News reported that Windsor mayor Carita Richardson praised the building as “one of the most beautiful schools I’ve ever seen,” while Delores “Dee Dee” Darden, the town’s county board supervisor, called the new school “both a jewel and a centerpiece of the school division.”

A two-story, 115,000-square-foot facility, Georgie D. Tyler Middle School includes ‘grade houses’ for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and can accommodate up to 800 pupils.
