Involved from the early stages of the project, Tindall was responsible for designing, engineering, fabricating, and delivering a series of more than 150 precast concrete arches, each 12’ tall and ranging from 38’ to 48’ in length.Discover
To enable Virginia Highland Airport Authority to extend a runway into a flood zone, Tindall’s innovative engineering team developed a specially designed 12’ by 8’ triple barrel precast box culvert system capable of supporting 67 feet of fill.Discover
Tindall manufactured the precast concrete bleachers and steps for Wofford College’s new state-of-the-art indoor facility, including approximately 174 step units that had to be cast and set into the bleacher spans.
Engaging with the owner of the track for value engineering, Tindall provided a 55’ arch span bridge for access to the infield of the racetrack, plus sanitary and storm drainage products.
To complete the two viaducts for this project, Tindall utilized 42’ spans x 9’ rises. Each of the six bays of the east viaduct, and seven bays of the west, made use of spans rated for Cooper E80 live loads.
Tindall manufactured and delivered 3 types of bridges, including a 3-bay, 55-foot-wide viaduct, a 36-foot-wide span, and a road with wingwalls on both sides.
Tindall provided a 2-piece tunnel system that was approximately 175’ long, 10’ wide, and 10.5’ tall. This system was needed for a location between 2 production areas in the plant.
Tindall created an 8’x8’ tunnel to provide a safe way for plant personnel to get from the manufacturing facility to the parking lot without having to cross congested roads. Installation took only half a day.
