In 2024, the Saraland City Board of Education set out to construct a storm-resilient facility designed to protect students and staff during severe weather events. With safety, speed, and reliability as top priorities, this project became a prime example of how precast concrete delivers unmatched value for K-12 construction. This 17,894-square-foot storm shelter was designed for structural efficiency, relying on precast concrete for its core life-safety function. The project focused on pure performance—delivering a trusted, durable space that meets stringent storm shelter requirements.Tindall manufactured and delivered every precast component for the structure, enabling rapid erection and early enclosure. Installation began on May 8, 2025, and was completed in just three weeks, allowing other trades to start sooner and keeping the project on track with strict K-12 timelines.
