Located in the heart of downtown New Orleans, The Park at South Market is a mixed-use development offering luxury apartments, shops, and a four-story precast parking structure. The project’s architects didn’t want just any parking deck, so chose to leverage Tindall’s precast concrete expertise to help create a look as distinct and vibrant as New Orleans itself.

The goal of this precast parking structure was to create a deck that was as visually captivating as it was functionally durable. In short, this parking deck needed to be tough as nails on the inside — and a work of art on the outside. Tindall rose to the challenge by creating unique precast finishes, resulting in a deck that the project’s lead architect described as “unapologetically contemporary, and a marriage of beauty and performance.”
The long-term durability of this precast parking structure combined with the ease of constructability of the facade, which facilitated a very rapid construction schedule, highlight the benefits of precast construction. The Park at South Market parking structure is so impressive that a friend of the project’s architectural firm wrote in to applaud its design: “I never thought I’d write a thank you message to architects for the flat-out beauty of a parking garage! My wife said it looked like a museum of modern art. Thanks for this great addition to downtown.”
